Privacy Policy
Overview
GChat is a secure team messaging service operated by Geetham for authorized organization members. This policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use GChat on the web or mobile apps at chat.geethamveg.com.
Information we collect
- Account data: email address, display name, phone number (if used for login), organization and location membership, role, and session identifiers.
- Messages and user content: text messages, reactions, read receipts, and conversation metadata.
- Attachments: files, photos, audio, and video you upload. Attachments may receive an organizational watermark when enabled.
- Push notifications: device push tokens (FCM) so we can deliver alerts when you are offline.
- Voice and video calls: call metadata such as participants, start/end time, and duration. Real-time media uses encrypted WebRTC. If call recording is enabled, it is disclosed in-app when recording starts.
- Technical data: IP address, browser or app version, and activity logs for security and reliability.
How we use data
- Provide messaging, search, attachments, calls, and admin features.
- Authenticate users and enforce organization-scoped access controls.
- Send push notifications for new messages and relevant alerts.
- Maintain audit logs for security and compliance where configured.
- Improve reliability, diagnose errors, and protect against abuse.
Storage and security
- Data in transit is protected with HTTPS and WSS (TLS).
- Message bodies are encrypted at rest in our database using AES-256-GCM.
- Attachments are stored in private object storage with organization-controlled access.
- Push notification previews may contain short plaintext snippets at delivery time only.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers needed to operate GChat, when required by law, or with your organization's administrators as part of normal workspace management.
Retention
We retain account and message data while your organization maintains an active workspace and as needed for legal, security, or backup purposes.
Your choices
- You can disable push notifications in your device settings.
- You may request access, correction, or deletion through your organization administrator or by contacting us below.
- The mobile app requires an internet connection.
Account and data deletion
To request deletion of your GChat account and associated personal data, contact your organization administrator or email geetham.gvrfoods@gmail.com from the address linked to your account. We will verify your identity and process deletion in coordination with your organization, typically within 30 days.
Children
GChat is intended for authorized workplace users and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
